FEATURED

There are so many fabulous things that you can buy for children these days that perhaps some people might wonder why you'd bother spending time making things you can often buy for very little. I think, however, that you always end up with a different experience when you take a bit of time to actually create these things yourself. Sure, buying it is the easy option, but aside from the feeling of accomplishment, children learn such a great deal from being part of creating things themselves. From the physical skills they learn through the processes, to developing creativity, imagination, concepts of recycling and more, there is so much to be gained from a bit of good ol' D.I.Y. handmade goodness. And of course the most important part, it's fun!

1.  Help ease your child's fears by making these Worry dolls for kids from My Little Bookcase

2.  Develop fine motor skills and have fun playing with Monster munch clips from Lalymom

3. Learn about the 4 seasons while making these DIY Snowglobes from Life with Moore Babies

4. Create fun play scenes & hold up your fridge notes with these adorable magnetic peg dolls  from Frog, Goose & Bear on kidspot

5. Delight the senses and get creative with some Edible Kool-Aid Paint from Sow, Sprout, Play

6. Make then play with these adorable Cork owls from Happy Hooligans

7.  Make bath times fun and help clear the nose with these sensory bath paints from Frogs, Snails and Puppy Dog Tails

8. Have some spooky fun or put your own spin on these fabulously simple Halloween themed night-lights from While he was Napping

9. Learn about letters, practice fine motor skills and make some cool art for your room with this Personalised Initial Wall Art  from Learn with Play at Home

10. Have fun experimenting and recycling at the same time with this DIY Marble Run from Powerful Mothering
