Best useful products for kids. Introducing eBay Collections.

This post is sponsored by Nuffnang and eBay Australia

I love online shopping. Since having kids, I love it even more!

The main reasons that I love shopping online are because:

  • I love comparing prices. I never buy the first thing I see until I've at least checked out the prices it's sold for elsewhere. I need to know I'm getting the best deal and it saves a lot of footwork and time when you shop online.
  • Browsing with young kids is near impossible. Sure, I have time to grab items here and there when I shop with my kids, but just wandering around looking at items and comparing prices is not something my kids particularly enjoy and my toddler is not always the most cooperative with it. Shopping with them usually involves me just grabbing whatever I can, as quickly as I can, so that I can get us out of there.
  • A lot of the things I buy are for my kids and it's hard to secretly buy Christmas or Birthday gifts when they are standing right there, hanging off the end of your t-shirt.
  • Unless I want to drive for miles, I'm limited to just what the shops in my general area happen to be stocking. Shopping online opens up a whole world of things to choose from and it's often easier to find something a bit more unique than all the standard items available in your area.

One of my favourite places online to shop, and often my starting point (even if it's just to get an idea on availability or general prices), is eBay.

Today, I've been asked to share with you a really cool new concept that eBay has just launched, called eBay Collections. You're going to love it!

What is eBay Collections?

I'm a visual person, which is why sites like pinterest are so appealing to me. I love browsing the images and I love the categorizing that goes on. eBay Collections is somewhat similar. Think of an awesome pinterest board, but each item you see on it, you can purchase if you like!

Collections allows you to create and browse boards, full of themed images. Of course, you can still browse the old fashioned way, searching through all the items, but with Collections, you can quickly and easily see some of the best, most interesting, most popular, most unique items available, all in a handy eye-catching visual.

These are some of the items I've collected on my "Love my Lunchbox" board.

Collections generally follow people's passions. So, as I am passionate about everything kids, my collections reflect this passion as well as my individual style and tastes.

Why use Collections?

  • Follow and browse inspiring collections made by the eBay curation team, bloggers, buyers and sellers. I've seen things on there that I never even would have thought to search for. Lots of inspiration!
  • Make your own boards and use as a tool to save and compare your favourite items. You can write yourself little notes about the products and what you like about them and then compare all the items and prices easily on your board. For example, I was searching a while back for a nightlight for my daughter. I ended up with so many tabs open and so many different things that I'd seen, that I got a bit confused with it all. Making a collection on eBay would have allowed me to see all my favourite styles on there, along with their prices, availability, features etc. on one handy board.
  • Find new items that follow your own passions, eg. travel, fashion etc. without the legwork. Someone has already done the searching for you.
  • Allows you to see the items as a collection and how they fit together. This would be particularly good for things like home interiors etc. For example, if you were wanting to give your child's room a makeover, you could make a board and then every time you see something that you think you'd like for the room, you add it to your collection. You can then see how all the items go together and which would work best together.
  • You could make gift suggestion boards, filled with items you like and then pass on to relatives or friends to make their gift buying even easier. I'll definitely be doing this for the kid's birthday's and Christmas. Even just for myself, they will be handy!

Check out my Collections!

I've made 5 collections (so far) that I'd love to share with you. I tried to have a think about some of the trickier aspects of raising children and searched for items that I thought were both useful and really cool. They are all items that I either already own or would be happy to own. I'd love you to let me know what you think.

The 5 categories that I concentrated on were items to help with:

  • Getting kids to eat the food we want them to
  • Eating on the go with kids
  • Travelling with kids
  • Getting kids clean
  • Getting kids to go to bed

To check out my collections, just click on the collection that interests you below and it will open in a new tab.
